Executive - Freight

A fast-growing logistics company is looking for an experienced Freight Manager to lead freight operations across road, air, and ocean modes. You will own carrier and vendor relationships, optimize freight costs, and make sure shipments move on time, in full, and in compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities: Plan, manage, and oversee end-to-end freight movement (FTL, LTL, air, ocean, and multimodal) for domestic and international shipments. Negotiate rates and contracts with transporters, carriers, airlines, shipping lines, and freight forwarders. Build and maintain a strong, reliable vendor and carrier network; run periodic performance reviews. Monitor freight spend, analyze cost trends, and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising service levels. Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, sales, and procurement teams for smooth dispatch and delivery. Track shipments in real time, resolve delays, damages, and claims, and escalate exceptions proactively. Ensure compliance with customs, GST/e-way bill, DGFT, and other statutory and safety regulations. Prepare MIS reports and KPIs: on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, carrier performance, and claims ratio. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of freight/logistics executives and coordinators. Drive process improvements and the adoption of TMS and other digital tracking tools. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field (MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain preferred). 2–6 years of experience in freight, transportation, or logistics operations. Proven experience in freight negotiation and carrier management. Working knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and import/export documentation. Hands-on experience with TMS/ERP systems and advanced Excel/MIS reporting.
