Job description
About the role
Full-time position in Engineering & Capital Projects, delivering electrical systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing and cleanroom facilities, from design review through commissioning and handover. This is a dedicated capital project execution role, not plant maintenance or shift operations.
Key responsibilities
- Review single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, schematics, cable schedules, equipment specifications and BOQs for constructability.
- Supervise HT/LT distribution, transformers, DG sets, PCC/MCC panels, UPS, cable trays, earthing and lighting installations.
- Coordinate HVAC, cleanroom, utility and process automation interfaces; resolve design clashes, site discrepancies and RFIs with consultants.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors and vendors for quality, safety, compliance and milestones; track critical-path delays and recovery plans.
- Enforce cGMP, statutory safety, electrical inspectorate and validation standards.
- Lead pre-commissioning, no-load/full-load testing, integrated trials, punch-list closure and handover; maintain approvals, FAT/SAT records, red-line markups and as-built drawings.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience; proven large-scale pharmaceutical or life sciences capital project execution is mandatory.
- Strong HT/LT engineering, power distribution, panel design, emergency backup and electrical drawing interpretation skills.
- Practical coordination experience with HVAC, ISO 5–8 cleanrooms, process equipment and pure utilities.
- Site leadership, contractor negotiation and vendor performance management skills.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, CEIG approvals and cGMP/cleanroom compliance; proficiency in scheduling, trackers, reporting, MS Office and project management tools.
- Preferred: greenfield/brownfield pharmaceutical expansions, sterile injectables, oral dosage, API or regulated biotech projects.
- Primarily maintenance, utility-upkeep or routine shift-operations backgrounds are not eligible.
