Production Engineer / Shift Supervisor - Drilling

About the role Full-time manufacturing role supervising drilling-section operations for oil and gas equipment, heavy engineering and precision manufacturing. Lead operators and technicians to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale targets while maintaining lean practices and API compliance. Key responsibilities - Enforce safety procedures and mandatory personal protective equipment compliance. - Allocate manpower and track hourly and daily production against schedules. - Implement lean manufacturing, waste reduction and 5S housekeeping. - Perform in-process and final inspections; investigate machining defects and dimensional deviations and initiate root cause corrective actions. - Document shift handovers and maintain physical and SAP production logs. - Train operators on operating procedures, machine setup and basic troubleshooting. - Coordinate with maintenance, tooling, quality and planning teams to minimise unplanned downtime. Requirements - 3–5 years of supervisory or production engineering experience in a precision machining or heavy manufacturing drilling section. - Hands-on knowledge of industrial drilling, cutting parameters and machining operations. - Ability to interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), work instructions and technical manuals. - SAP experience for production bookings and shift reporting; PP/QM modules preferred. - Familiarity with API Quality Management System requirements and relevant ISO standards. - Leadership, floor coordination, time management, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills. - Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends and extended hours as required. - Ability to stand, walk and inspect operations for extended periods in a fast-paced shop floor with heat, noise and cutting fluids.
